The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) is a global network of Catholic organizations dedicated to supporting missionary work and evangelization efforts, particularly in young and developing churches. The PMS is under the Dicastery for Evangelization - Section for the First Evangelization and New Particular Churches headed by His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle. 
Overview of the Pontifical Mission Societies 
The Pontifical Mission Societies consist of four main organizations that work in communion with the Holy Father to promote the Church's missionary outreach. 

1. Society for the Propagation of the Faith: This society supports missionary dioceses and pastoral needs around the world, helping to fund the work of missionaries and the establishment of local churches. 
2. Society of St. Peter the Apostle: Focused on the formation of seminarians, novices, and religious in mission territories, this society ensures that future leaders of the Church are well-prepared for their roles. 
3. Society for Missionary Childhood: Engaging children in mission through prayer and acts of solidarity, this society fosters a sense of responsibility for the Church's mission among young people. 
4. Missionary Union of Priests and Religious: This organization aims to inspire clergy, religious, and laity in their missionary spirituality and commitment, emphasizing that mission is the calling of all baptized Catholics. 
The primary mission of the Pontifical Mission Societies is to promote a universal missionary spirit among Catholics. They provide vital support to mission territories where the Church is young, poor, or persecuted by (1) Proclaiming the Gospel and evangelizing communities that have never encountered Christ; (2) Building churches and chapels as places of worship and community gathering; (3) Supporting mission priests, religious, and lay leaders who minister to the faithful; (4) Providing humanitarian aid, including food, education, and medical care to vulnerable populations
